A hexagonal lantern standing 225 cm tall and made of granite, the foundation features alternating kozama engravings of triple-stemmed and blossoming lotus flowers.
It was originally situated near the center of the head temple garden.
It shows weathering but retains the complete form typical of lanterns from the Kamakura period (1185–1333), including the shaft, middle platform, light compartment, cap, lotus-shaped support, and decorative finial. It is recognized as an excellent example of a stone lantern from the era.
